England




If you are a rugby fan, there is something rather special about going to Twickenham. It is, after all, the home of English rugby and one of the world's most famous rugby stadia.

Unfortunately, fame and atmosphere don't necessarily make somewhere enjoyable, and Twickenham is a ground I have rather mixed feelings about.

France




The Stade de France is France's national stadium and, despite what you might assume from the name, it isn't actually in central Paris. It is in Saint-Denis, just north of the city, although getting there from central Paris is relatively straightforward by public transport.

For rugby, this is a stadium I really like. It is big, modern and perhaps most importantly, it can generate a fantastic atmosphere.

Ireland




The Aviva Stadium is a good example of how to build a modern stadium without completely losing sight of the people who actually have to sit in it.

Italy

Scotland




Murrayfield Stadium is another stadium that proves you don't necessarily need to knock everything down and build something shiny and modern to create a great sporting venue.

Murrayfield is old, it shows its age in places and it has character, which for me is a definite advantage.

Wales




If there is one thing you can say about the Welsh, it is that they are passionate about their rugby. Even during the rather difficult run the Welsh team is currently enduring, the supporters continue to turn up and make an international match at the Principality Stadium a very special occasion.
